Osceola may face 20 percent increase to Lynx, officials say

This article talks about a propose increase in county-based funding. Currently Lynx is the only bus transportation in Osceola and other near by counties. The company is currently having financial difficulties because of the subsidized services it provides to the community and competitors like uber and lyft. Their board of directors are asking for a 20 percent payment increase from the counties it serves, to avoid service cuts. They have also proposed a bus fare increment of 25 cents.

The problem is that services currently available will no longer be offered.

The people that take advantage of this subsidized programs, usually low in come or disable.
